Message from the French President to Rt Hon President of Nepal
On the occasion of the Constitution Day, the President of the French Republic sent the following message to the Right Honourable President of Nepal:
===Beginning of message===
Right Honourable President,
Allow me to express to you, on my own behalf and on behalf of the French people, my warm congratulations for the celebration of National Day of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
This comes after several elections that have constituted a major step for the consolidation of federal institutions and of the democracy in Nepal. I assure you of full support of France for the consolidation of this process and to your efforts for the sustainable economic development of your country.
The year 2019 will be a special year for it will mark the seventieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and Nepal. I am pleased of the longevity of our political relationship, which reflects the deep affection that has always existed between our two peoples as proven by the history of Nepali studies in France and the growing number of French people visiting your country.
In this context, I wish to start a reflection to identify the sectors in which trade between our two countries could be deepened particularly in the fields of economy (sustainable cities, transport, energy, tourism, health, agro-food), and culture.
I also wish to associate Nepal with our mobilization on global issues. On November 11, I will open the first edition of the Paris Peace Forum, which will last until 13 November. Its purpose is to bring together every year the decision-makers, actors and financiers around projects providing concrete solutions for governance in security matters, environment, development, economy and new technologies. The presence of Nepal, given its strategic position in South Asia and the importance of the global issues for her, including those related to climate change, would be valuable and I would very much like your country to be represented at the highest possible level.
Please accept, Right Honourable President, the expression of my highest consideration.
